Our Story

Ericeira Kit started with a simple observation: most tourists arriving in Ericeira spend their first afternoon searching for gear — surfboards, wetsuits, yoga mats, beach chairs — only to buy cheap kit they will abandon at the end of their trip, or pay inflated prices for single-day rentals that assume you are just passing through.

We built something different. A rental service designed around the way people actually stay in Ericeira — for weeks, not days. You get access to genuinely good equipment, delivered to your door if you need it, at a price that makes sense for a longer stay. No clutter to deal with when you leave. No wasted purchase.

Our Mission

We believe the best travel kit is the kind you do not have to own. Renting extends the life of well-made equipment, keeps good gear in use, and removes the pressure on travellers to buy things they will only need for a few weeks.

Our mission is to make high-quality gear accessible to every visitor who comes here to surf, practise yoga, spend time on the beach with their family, or simply work remotely with an ocean view — without the overhead of ownership and without the environmental cost of disposable purchases.

Eco Focus

Tourism creates a lot of waste. Snorkels bought once and left behind. Yoga mats that end up in landfill. Beach toys abandoned after a long weekend. We are one small answer to that problem.

Every item in our inventory is maintained, cleaned, and repaired so it can be used again and again by the people who come after you. Choosing to rent rather than buy reduces your footprint during your stay — and reduces the demand for low-quality, short-life goods that pile up in holiday destinations everywhere.

We source equipment that is built to last. When something reaches the end of its life with us, we find it a second use — donated to a local surf school or community project — before it becomes waste.

Location — Ericeira

Ericeira is one of only a handful of places in the world designated a World Surfing Reserve — the first in Europe, and still the only one on the continent. The designation recognises not just the quality of the waves but the culture that has grown around them: a working fishing village turned surf town that has somehow managed to stay real.

The town sits on a clifftop forty minutes north of Lisbon, with consistent Atlantic swells, whitewashed streets, and a pace of life that makes it easy to stay longer than planned. It draws surfers who come for a week and end up renting a flat for the season, and remote workers who stay for a month while chasing morning waves before their first meeting.

We are based here, we live here, and we care about this place. Our business only works if Ericeira stays worth visiting.

The Team

We are a small local team. Between us we surf most days the Atlantic cooperates, we know every break on the reserve, and we have spent enough time helping guests pick the right board to understand that good advice matters as much as good gear.
